During period IV (Late Bronze Age II – 1500-1200 BCE) the site is still fortified even though the fortification wall is slightly modified under strong Hittite influence: the rampart is no longer used and the wall is built in mudbricks with a stone foundation. This period is the one of the maximum expansion of the Hittite Empire; the site becomes smaller and hosts a fortified citadel with evident political powers over the surrounding area.
A tunnel was found, dressed in stone that might have been a postern or a water gallery/well.
The citadel will be destroyed by a violent fire.
